Holne village fete takes place every year on the second Saturday of August at the Play park.
The aims of the fete are twofold to ensure villagers and visitors have an enjoyable day and also to make a profit so that local charities and worthwhile village activities are supported.
Activities and charities, are, Toddlers playgroup, Social Group, Village Hall Coffee Mornings, Youth Group, Holne & Scoriton Children s Party, Bowls Club, Church Bells refurbishment, Bell Ringing Training, Parish Link Magazine, Cat & Mouse website, Devon Air Ambulance, Local Hospital League of Friends and the Tsunami Appeal.
Fete events include Children s Sports, Bale Tossing, Raffle, Dog Show, Holne all comers Egg Tossing Contest (internationally renowned), Cross Country Race (adults and children) Tug-o-war
Fete stalls include Refreshment tent, ce cream van, Face Painting, Treasure Hunt, Hoopla , Plant Stall, Bowls, Bookstall, Bottle stall, Lucky Dip, Bean Bag ladder, Cake Stall, Bric a Brac, Crafts and Penalty Shoot Out.
In the evening a STREET PARTY with live music and food is provided outside the Church House Inn.
The Committee meets three times prior to the fete day and twice afterwards, it currently comprises of (2005 - needs updating)

To the great relief of the committee many of the villagers of Holne and Mitchelcombe Parish are actively involved with the running the fete on the day. The hope of the committee is to continue the financial success of the fete and most importantly to take great care in maintaining the essential character of this traditional and happy event
